hydroponics?

wanting to do a small hydroponics garden for my first grader and i cant find a store to buy the mediums or the fertilizer can somebody please help… I do not want to buy online or guess really i cant lol no credit card.I am planning on using an ebb and flow system with tomato plants

You can get bags of lava rock to use from Home Depot for $3-4 for a 1/2 cubic ft bag. Put it in a pot. There is great book called How to Grow Fresh Air that has more details in it. You could use a liquid fertilizer. I don’t know about the ebb and flow systems.
